MatrixScan

MatrixScan is needed to perform the measurements with the 2D-ARRAY (see 2D-Dose Rate). VeriSoft and MultiCheck both call MatrixScan.

After starting, the software checks whether an offset measurement exists which is no older than 8 hours (configurable). If not, it is suggested to start one. The duration for offset measurements is also configurable. I use 60 seconds after a warmup time of 10-15 minutes. A detailed analysis of the warmup time can be found here.

Before starting a dose measurement, temperature, pressure and a correction factor can be entered. The measurement has to be started and stopped manually (a maximum time can also be configured, after which the measurement automatically stops).

The 3D-graphics is updated every 200ms. Fig. 1 shows MatrixScan in action during a long measurement of four 10x10 quadrants. For display, it is possible to switch between accumulated dose and dose rate during the measurement.

By stopping and accepting the result, control is given back to VeriSoft. When VeriSoft is not installed, the measurement can be saved in different formats.
