Now to the key information of these pages: the patient statistics. All data were analysed for the period Dec 96 - Sep 98. I did not evaluate the average number of plans that are stored with each patient, since I am not convinced of the value of this information (Which plans were really treated?) and since it would have meant a lot of extra work. The Primary Treatment Region is evaluated from the VARiS database. The patient ID of our patients in VARiS contains a three to four letter code which gives information about the primary diagnosis (ICD code). So for each patient in Cadplan I looked up the patient ID in VARiS and summed up the tumor groups for the pie chart.
